Precision expands MRI offering

Patient Comfort. Physician Options.

Precision Imaging Centers has expanded to include both open MRI and upright MRI services. This marks a significant advancement in patient care. With open MRI, patients who may experience claustrophobia or discomfort during traditional scans now have a more comfortable option. Additionally, the introduction of upright MRI offers a unique advantage, enabling scans to be performed in weight-bearing positions, providing crucial insights into musculoskeletal and spinal conditions.

For patients, these choices mean a more accommodating and less anxiety-inducing experience during imaging procedures. The ability to select between open and upright MRI enhances patient comfort, ensuring that individuals of varying needs and preferences can receive the necessary diagnostic imaging with ease.

Furthermore, offering these advanced MRI options expands the diagnostic capabilities for referring physicians. They can now choose the most appropriate and patient-centered imaging method for their patients, resulting in more accurate diagnoses and tailored treatment plans. Precision Imaging Centers’ commitment to providing a comprehensive range of imaging services reflects a patient-centric approach and the aim to elevate the quality of healthcare provided to the community.

Open Upright MRI

Open Upright MRI

An upright MRI, also known as a weight-bearing MRI, is a specialized medical imaging system that allows for the scanning of the spine and other musculoskeletal structures while the patient is in a weight-bearing, standing, sitting, or other position. Unlike traditional MRI machines, which require patients to lie down in a horizontal position, upright MRI machines offer a more dynamic and functional approach to imaging.

The ability to scan patients in different positions is particularly useful for diagnosing conditions or injuries that may only be apparent when the body is under the stresses of gravity. Upright MRIs are often employed to evaluate issues such as spinal abnormalities, joint problems, and neurological conditions that may become more evident when the body is in an upright stance.
